Worst fish and chip shop in Saffron Walden ordered online at 6.30pm for 7.45-8.15 delivery rung them at 8.25 to be told sorry for delay it’s out for delivery 8.45 turned up asked driver what time he left shop 5 minutes ago he said so the lies were bad enough but when we opened our food it was luke warm and certainly not just cooked or fresh avoid at all costs

Delivery 40mins late was the main issue but the large chips which is more expensive than everywhere else was underwhelming portion.
Everything else was acceptable but not good, they are the most expensive F+Cshop in walden and would expect better.

Definitively the worst fish and chips I have ever had. I was told to pick them order up at 7pm and arrived early at 6.50pm. It was there in the hot cupboard all wrapped up. Heaven knows how long it has been there. When I opened it once home (5 minute journey): cod portion miniscule (advertised as medium), inside overcooked, batter soft and squishy because it has been cooked so long ago, chips still white. Disgusting and inedible.

Had fish and chips tonight food was delicious and very hot.
My friend recommended trying the curry sauce so I thought I would give it a try I can honestly say I wasn’t disappointed
The staff are very friendly and the premises are clean and fresh looking

Shocking service with a young (nothing wrong with that) but unmotivated team. The microwave pings more than the sound of the till!! Has the blandest, tough piece of small fish with chips that kept (due to the oil) repeating on me. We also ordered a pie that was heated up from the freezer/chiller in the micowave whilst i waited. The savaloy was cold and the only nice thing about the meal was the curry sauce!! It’s overpriced and the team seriously need to be sorted out. They was on there phones with very little interaction. It was terrible and was my first and last visit. Shame.

I tried the cod and chips here last week, all cooked fresh to order, nice crispy batter and tasty fish, wrapped separately upon request. Very good.

Waited over two and half hours
The chips were all mashed together, the burger was soggy and the food was pretty much cold.

Ordered online and after the expected delivery was gone we phone to enquire about order. Was told it was on its way . After 25 mins later we were told it was not for another 40mins even we opt to pick order ourselves. The food maybe good but it is dishonesty that we were disgusted with. And the apology was they have one delivery vehicle.

Really good food. Pretty much always cooked to order so you may have to wait a few minutes but it won't have been sat under a heat lamp for who knows how long?

A really tasty takeaway! We ordered some cod, a battered sausage, crispy chicken burger, frickles (fried pickles) and a large chips, it was all delicious!
Delivery was on time and very friendly.
Would certainly recommend.

The first time I ordered chips, I can honestly say they were the best I had eaten anywhere. Since then prices went up and the quality of chips went down. It may just be a 'timing' thing, as you can make nice chips but my experience is of a drop in quality. Please don't drop standards as you will just be another chip shop equal to others in SW and you can be better. You will lose customers aswell.

Ordered through gogetters and the pictures show the cod option comes with chips. Unfortunately it came with no chips so wasn’t very happy. Also ordered the seafood basket at the batter was hard and not nice at all.

First time I had ordered from Wrights, and the online booking system right through to their delivery to my home was perfect.The delivery was prompt and the food was hot and delicious.i will definitely use Wrights of Saffron Walden again!
